Thomas "Tom" Dobyns, Jr. Obituary

Thomas Sherwood "Tom" Dobyns, Jr. ,63, of Bedford, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Brook-lyn, NY on June 25, 1944 a son of the late Thomas Sherwood Dobyns, Sr. and Pauline Witt Dobyns. Tom was a semi-retired brick mason. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda J. Dobyns. He is survived by two chil-dren, Sylvia Dobyns-Griffin of Amherst; Michael Anthony Dobyns and his wife, Teresa, of Norfolk; two brothers, Donald Dobyns of Bedford; Vincent Dobyns and wife, Alicia, of Hampton; a sister, Patsy D. Comer and husband, Charles, of Bedford. He also leaves behind his very special friend, Rachel Snead of Bedford. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in Greenwood Ceme-tery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday evening at Burch-Messier Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford, (easy access off of Washington St.) (540) 586-7360.

Tommy and I rode the school bus together for twelve years to NLA. I am so sorry to hear of his death.
